Jeramiah Desousa: Fantra Zine #9 hard-copy is paying homage to a couple of friends. Concerned musician artist-activist Jeramiah Desousa is one of 'em. Jeramiah Desousa is an artist of many mediums ranging from woodcarving and sculpting to painting and drawing in many different styles. Jeramiah Desousa is a musician/singer/songwriter as well. At nine years old, Jeramiah bought a film adaptation of George Orwell's novel "1984," at a yard sale. The story of Winston Smith and his rebellion against the entity of "Big Brother" opened Jeramiah's eyes to many things which formed a solid base for his belief in civil disobedience and revolution. As an act of rebellion Jeramiah began skateboarding. While he was skating Jeramiah enjoyed listening to American Hardcore Punk Rock, and was eventually turned on to Reggae music through bands like Bad Brains. His art began to reflect a vision of a brighter future. He formed a reggae band with his close friends called," MahOp." MahOp provided a platform from which to communicate with the community and build unity locally through heartfelt music and good vibes. Jeramiah was able to convey his message of rebellion, unification, and civil disobedience for many years, all the while never neglecting his passion for his other art. Jeramiah continues to play Reggae music with Green Machine and MahOp; plus create many different works of art in the mediums he prefers. Jeramiah is currently residing in Visalia, California with his wife, Amanda and their twin sons, Ira and Elijah. Fantra Zine #9 Cover (soon come). Fantra Zine . FZMA Newsletter . Ghetto Muzik TV .
