Bobby Culture chatting on Jack Ruby sound in Ocho Rios - Jamaica. "...Well ahh 3 years gone mi nuh go a Jamrock. 3 years gone mi nuh go a Sunsplash. Fi go sit upon the riverside - si (sit) dunk (down) pon (on) rock. Ketch small fish an' fi go tro (throw) dem (them) back. Roast breadfruit until dem black. Grab up fi mi (my) dawtah (daughter) den mi (I) give har (her) a smack (kiss). Den mi walk from Chiney Beach straight to Wareika hill-top. Walk from Chiney Beach straight up to Poco Flat. Gwaan Bobby Culture you ahh de deejay notch... I mu-ous' (must) tek ah trip back dunk inna Jamaica. Hey-hey - hey-hey..." -- by Mr. Fitzroy Billings aka Bobby Culture.

The former Jack Ruby Hi-Fi (Ocho Rios, St. Ann - Jamaica) 80's resident deejay BOBBY CULTURE (aka Culture Bobby -- RIP), 'longside Louie Rankin and Brimstone & Fire were the Ram-dance Masters trio in NYC in the *80's. Notable collaborative album to date is "Tidal Wave." The habitat of the Ram-dance Masters: Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens including the South side of JFK Airport at "Beach 25" in Far Rockaway where you could see the Doctor Bird logo on Air Jamaica Airline arrivals and departures. The lifestyle of the Ram-dance Masters: Ruffneck reality biz, reggae muzik, and nuff gyal pickney. Dudes lived street life to the max. Their lifestyle was embedded in their lyrics.

BOBBY CULTURE's "Trip To Jamaica" was recorded and released in 1986 on Jamekee/Dollar Bill labels. Riddim (rhythm) was tracked at Bullwackie Recording Studio slightly above 245th Street & White Plains Road, Bronx - NYC. ‘Trip To Jamaica’ was voiced and mixed at Power Play studio in Long Island City, Queens - NYC. Musician credit: Rudolph "Pluto Pluck" Richards. With Lloyd "Bullwackie" Barnes engineering, Pluto Pluck striped drums, bass, guitar and keyboard tracks and knocked the riddim (rhythm) out of the park with a groove that was in the pocket. Bobby Culture just hugged that in-the-pocket groove and spit his sometimes off-key flavored sing-jay style. And BOOOOOM!! Signature Bobby Culture classic.

Bobby Culture 'Trip To Jamaica' (Youtube) and 'Doc Holiday' (Youtube), and two dub tracks (side B) are on this classic 12" vinyl release. Vinyl Pushers are selling this 4-songs 33 1/3 rpm 12" ep vinyl online for US$75 to US$125. Kool!! D.I.A (morphed from Jamekee) has quite a few shrink-wrapped copies on hand. Interestingly, the official black and white Jamekee jacket with hands reaching out to infinity was illustrated by visual artist Tennyson "Jimmy" Smith. It was great to use the USA dollar bill as label concept since "they" said we could not because it would be considered counterfeiting. The metaphor for 'Dollar Bill' label was everybody has at least one dollar -- therefore, "everyone should own recordings released on the Dollar Bill label," said Doctor aka H. Downer. Only Bobby Culture and Doctor were released on Dollar Bill label. In 1986, Jamekee was working out of One World Trade Center, Suite 8817, NY, 10048. The address is printed on the jacket. 'Trip To Jamaica' track was released on D.I.A Records via "Inverted Paradox" (Various Artist) digital album on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Google Play, Spotify, and more, etc.

Hey yo -- we still wanna know how Bobby Culture's 'Trip To Jamaica' (and Doctor's 'Dance In Brooklyn') vinyls were shipped from New York City to San Francisco and Europe without authorization. Where did you get the recordings for shipping? Don't fool yuhself (yourself)-– wi kno (we know) the culprit One-Stop in Jamaica, Queens. Piracy at its best. Interest$ have been compounded to a tidal wave sum and Barry Reis will be calling any time. D.I.A/Jamekee does not have a big catalog like some, but the multi-faceted boutique indie is always "light-years ahead" (and far beyond mere miles) in creativity, quality control, and marketing.

Yo Doctor (H. Downer) aka Doc Holiday – where you at? 'Dance Inna Brooklyn' pon de big bad original 'Megatron Rock' riddim is still killer. Even Bullwackie recorded Santa Rankin pon (on) dis (this) D.I.A/Jamekee 'Megatron Rock' riddim doing a song called 'Don't Put Him Dey.’ 'Megatron Rock' has been re-recorded at least two times also. JC Lodge's "Telephone Love" hit is on a re-recorded version of 'Megatron Rock' Hop Sing. We heard Jamalski and Kefas riding a dancehall version of 'Megatron Rock' on a Legalshot Sound dance in Paris, France with Shinehead. Click for Youtube clip.

Man, so y’all think it is only Eek-A-Mouse writing a book... Easy Lloydie Barnes and my brother Douglas "Hamma" Levy. BigUPs to my other bredda (brother) The LONE RANGER aka Anthony Waldron too. Special thanks to journalist Elena Oumano who reviewed both Bobby Culture and Doctor's EPs for The Beat magazine. BigUP to C.C. Smith. The beat ruled. Thanks to Amy Wachtel for first radio play. Bobby Culture and Friends album release on C & D Records label 1990On another note, Bobby Culture released "Bobby Culture & Friends" with H. "Doc" Downer on C & D Records label in 1990. Album art is a picture taken in Mary Immaculate Hospital, Jamaica - Queens, NYC, where Bobby Culture was hospitalized for a leg injury. In pic (center to right) is Bobby Culture (in bed), H. "Doc" Downer and Louie Rankin... This release is being sold online for US$50 by Deadly Dragon Sound System, NYC.

Keeper Of The Faith. High Priest ABBA TESFA MARIAM. D.I.A Records.

(Various Artists).
"Keeper Of The Faith" is a 100% Reggae Muzik album in the works... It does not matter how long it takes -- it will go live as soon as right songs from worthy artists who live and practice a true righteous life are compiled. Artists have to truely live Rastafari. Tall order!
