PLUTOPIA: "SIGNS OF THE TIME"
Plutopia "Signs Of The Time."
Plutopia aka Rudolph Richards executive produced and recorded "Signs of The Time" in the 1980's. 'Burning Love' single outtake was released on 12 inch vinyl on JameKee/D.I.A Records in 1984. We listened to this conscious reggae project recently and it "slams!" "Sings Of The Time" is timeless sounds. "Sings Of The Time" will be released digitally in November, 2016, on DIA Records.
"KEEPER OF THE FAITH"
"Keeper Of The Faith" is a 100% roots-conscious Reggae album in the works... Seems it will take a long while to find the right songs by worthy artists for this project...
Street Ragz Garments (SR): SR Got You Covered In All Conditions
Street Ragz (SR) Beanies. SR Got You Covered In All Conditions. HEART!
|DUBB AGENTS: In the tradition of Soul Vendors being the house band for Clement "Sir Coxone" Dodd's Studio One label, and The Aggrovators being the house band for Bunny "Striker" Lee -- Dubb Agents basically started out as the house band for D.I.A (Diverse Intensified Audio). The Dubb Agents is a "force of diverse sounds" -- punk, ska, reggae, dubb, funk, hardcore, alt. hiphop, alt. rock, etc. Components are in place with some super-cool musicians with great attitudes who naturally hit hard without trying.
DUBB AGENTS is no longer affiliated with HR anymore. However, bigUps to H.R who helped to give life to the Dubb Agents band/brand to stand on its own. That will never and cannot be disputed. Nuff (lots of) respect and thanks Joe! Dubb Agents is now out in front on from the backing role. On the flipside, without Dubb Agents (and D.I.A) H.R. and subsequently Bad Brains would have been faded a long, long time ago. There is no disputing that also. BigUPs to Eek A Mouse (aka Ripton Hylton) who helped and inspired also. Bandingly!!! BigUps to Dan "Skitch" Lovett (R.I.P), Vinny and Joe Corbin, David Cornejo, Lu Bmob, Steven Repka, Patrick Robinson, Treasure Don (Henry Walker), Hektor Bee, TJ Haslett, Chris DeRosa, Monk Washington, Mark Lyn aka Que, Agent Jay, Pablo Fiasco, Benjamin "Thick Sound" Hamlin, Grant OG Garretson, Jason Browning and Jerry Barrett who have gigged with Dubb Agents backing especially H.R (aka Human Rights). You all were hired and brought in the circle to play as Dubb Agents to back H.R. H.R. had to be booked as H.R. (of Bad Brains) & Dubb Agents for a few reasons. Forget what you've heard. That cannot be disputed either. Dubb Agents is similar to great bands such as P-Funk that featured a long list of musicians over the years. Musicians always come and go. And it will or may continue in that mode for Dubb Agents too from time to time. How ever one thing is certain -- a great show that entertain will always be guaranteed regardless of who the musicians are. But yea -- to quote Mr. John Lee Hooker -- "thank you fellaz."
Below clip: Dubb Agents is "Out Front" with Steven Repka on guitz, Mysta Lu on bass, and Patrick Robinson with guest artist Treasure Don @ The Bowery Electric, NYC - NY, USA, December 29, 2016. Brooklyn Vegan -- "...Dubb Agents, played a strong set with Ramones covers and more. They were joined for the last few songs of their set by Treasure Don (of Lee Perry collaborators Subatomic Sound System)..."

Dubb Agents killed
it at The Spot
In video below Dubb Agents with special guest Top Cat performing at The Spot Underground in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, April 2, 2016, supporting The Alchemystics. The General Manager of The Spot Underground Miss Renee V. said Dubb Agents "killed it" and invited the crew back. Thanks Renee. Thanks for the footage Godbrother Rich.
Artists backed by Dubb (Dub) Agents starting in 2002: Sister Nancy, Aunt Esther, Sister Charmaine, King D'Jango, Ed Robinson, Junior Demus, H.R of Bad Brains, Jack Ruby, Jr. (aka Anthony Lindo) formerly of The Toasters and Jazzhole, Jamalski (Jamal A Mitchell) , original Top Cat (aka Jahfingers Sounds Kenny), etc... See some flyer art and some of the venues infiltrated at this link.. Dubb Agents will continue to back and feature certain artists as special guests including NYC top underground mic stalker Treasure Don (of Subatomic Sound too), and of course Master trumpeter Kevin Batchelor. Thanks a bunch fellaz
Like it or not -- it does not matter which Dubb Agents crew it is -- Monk Washington, David Cornejo Alegre, Que as Mark Lyn or Hektor Bee, Lu Bmob and Steven Repka, the Dubb Agents HIT VERY HARD even when they are playing soft. For Dubb Agents last gig at Don Pedro in East Williamsburg, NYC, February 20, 2016, Steven Repka (vocals and guitar), Lu Bmob (vocals and bass) and Hektor Bee (drums) played 2 killer sets totaling about 4.5 hours of playing time. While backing Top Cat's segment even the bartenders and security left their posts to watch Dubb Agents play. This is what talent buyers, booking agents and venue owners love. A band played with the locked-in energy Dubb Agents showcased at Don Pedro is the type of band managers love to deliver to clients and roll down the road with. Awesome!
It is humbly Global Rock man: "...It is about Rhythm, Culture, Respect, true-blue Loyalty and Total Inclusion for most parts. There is no Race, Class, Age or Gender. People are just people..." And let me inject it is not loyalty when you are living on the road as family breaking bread, etc., then you shadily stepped to the lead artist to ask him to record and recorded him behind management's back. That will always truncate any possibility of a trusting relationship.
Past Dubb Agents' Gigs:
It is always a big thanks to venues who allowed Dubb Agents the opportunity to play. This is a big deal. Rest assure that when Dubb Agents load-in for a gig the crew "works" for that establishment until load-out. And the mission is simply to help sell a great time to patrons. We want to thank venues and staff for hospitality efforts provided along the routing. Shouts to The Bowery Electric, in NYC. This is a great venue in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC. Thanks to Thunder Road in Somerville, Massachusetts also -- A+ Dan M. Thanks Kobie Ali! And, bigUPs to My Place Pizza in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Don Pedro in Brooklyn, NYC for featuring the Dubb Agents. Sweet! Universal props to the punk-hardcore-reggae legend H.R of Bad Brains. Regardless...! Thanks Joe!
It does not matter if the venue is D.I.Y or a corporate high-end operation, the utmost respect and compliance with operation policy is given to each venue, despite level of operation. Meaning we load-in and load-out on time. In between we simply work with the venue's staff. Under D.I.A, crews do not behave like divas. For instance - we will never ask DIY promoter for green, yellow and red towels, 6 bottles of champagnes, etc., and run up his/her hospitality expense. Promoters gotta make a profit too.
Dubb (Dub) Agents History: Dubb Agents have deep roots as a boutique band backing a few artists going back to September 22, 2002. With different teams of musicians, artists backed included Sister Nancy, Sister Charmaine, Junior Demus, Ed Robinson and King D'Jango. Dubb Agents started backing H.R of Bad Brains in 2005. Jack Ruby, Jr.,(of Toasters and Jazzhole) was backed in 2007. Jamalski and Top Cat were initially backed December 18, 2015.
It's like it was chiseled in stone dude. Some artists conveniently have a short memory and don't give credit. Or, an artist like Baddaflex might change his name to SkillinJah, but one thing is factual -- Dubb Agents was there supporting as indicated on snipe to left.
Contact Dubb Agents for shows at: Dubb-Agents@DIA-Inc.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
And sure -- Dubb Agents will have folks swarming like a school of bunkers to shows with consistent hard work. And selected musicians come to "fucking" play hard.
